Welcome to Glacier Lodge

A small touch of civilization at the edge of wilderness...

Glacier Lodge, nestled at 8,000 feet on Big Pine Creek, is gateway to some of the best hiking, fishing, and climbing in the country. Silence. It's the first thing you hear after you take a deep breath of mountain air, filling your lungs deeply with the healthy pine scent and letting it out slowly. You can hear the sweet breeze through the pine trees and feel it's coolness on your bare skin. You see into forever and the mountains soar toward the bluest blue sky you've ever seen.

Glacier Lodge provides free access to their trout pond. It is stocked weekly by Fish and Game. Click on the picture for a larger image (40 sec @ 56k)

Fishing and "Kodak Moments" are everywhere! With over a hundred thousand acres of wilderness terrain to explore, the seasonal colors of Spring, Summer and Autumn are always bursting at the seams. The John Muir Trail, the Palisades Glacier (the most southern glacier in the United States) and Temple Crag are all a short hike away.
